Suffolk ConstabularyAround 4.40pm yesterday in an alleyway off Post Mill Gardens Grundisburgh a woman in her 30s was threatened with what she believed to be a revolver and her wallet stolen.  Just after 6pm a suspect was detained in Meeting Lane and an imitation firearm found in a nearby address.  A 21 year old man from the Woodbridge area has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.  Any info contact police quoting ref: 64050/22, you can call 101.

Genuinely shocked this morning to learn that local man and outstanding photographer Eamonn McCabe has died suddenly aged 74.  We only met him once to speak with and he was kindly helpful and interested in us holding a camera at a Printroom private view.

Suffolk Torch Relay 13 May - 1 JuneThe Suffolk Festival celebrates the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a Torch Relay ... wonder where they got the idea.  Next month the relay wanders around the county for nearly three weeks taking in places that certainly we haven't heard off and we suspect many of you haven't either.  The route flirts with near the coast 24-26 May but gives it proper attention 29-31.

Mini Mouth's A Mid-Summer Night's DreamThorington Outdoor Theatre is a stunning natural ampitheatre in woods not far from Darsham.  Last night we enjoyed Mini Mouth's dress rehearsal of A Mid-Summer's Night Dream for the theatre's opening tonight.  The large cast from very mini and upwards were thoroughly enjoying themselves (especially the pre-show warm up) and keeping the stage manager active marshalling youthful spirits:)

Suffolk ConstabularyMarlesford - £24,000 worth of GPS stolen from vehicles

Police are appealing for witnesses after a high value theft from rural vehicles in Marlesford.  It took place at some point between Thursday 6 May at 5.30pm and Monday 10 May at 8.25am at a business premises on Main Road.  At some point up to four rural vehicles had their GPS systems removed along with the pods on the roofs, totalling around £24,000 worth of goods stolen.

Pettistree - Overnight burglary near Walnut Lane

Sometime between 8pm on Wednesday 31 March and 8am on Thursday 1 April offender/s forced entry to a shed at a property near Walnuts Lane in Pettistree and stole a ride-on mower.  It is thought that a vehicle and possibly a trailer would have been needed to transport the mower.

Police are appealing for witnesses and reminding dog owners to keep their pets under control, after sheep were killed in Gedgrave near Orford.  The incident occurred at some time between Thursday 21 January and yesterday, Wednesday 27 January, in a field near to the river wall.  Two pregnant ewes were attacked and killed in a suspected dog attack. As a result officers remind dog walkers to ensure they keep they their pets under control when walking through fields with livestock.

Police are appealing for witnesses or information following an incident in Friston.  The incident occurred at around 3.10pm on Tuesday 12 January in a field near Aldeburgh Road.  Two dogs were running loose and entered a large flock of pregnant ewes, causing some of them to fall over and be distressed.

Police are reminding dog owners to take appropriate steps to keep their pets under control as they are responsible for them and their conduct when out walking.
