A corner near HoxneWe all know that presently developers around near the coast seem to erect an executive residence on anything no smaller than a small chicken shed.  Coming round a corner near Hoxne we were still surprised to see this.

Hoxne Christmas lightsWhen we visited Hoxne three Christmases back to see Vix and the Kicks (she does make Wilby Christmas baskets the effort) we were impressed by the public festive lights and if anything they're better this year and a couple of villages away the hanging baskets at St Mary's Wilby are still being tended and have gained seasonal decorations.

Stradbroke archive launchStradbroke launched it's village archive today with multiple computers in the Courthouse, cake, sausage rolls, a very decent cup of tea and much interest.  So far there are some 800 items of the 6,000 already digitised on www.stradbrokearchive.org.uk  and browsing we discovered there was a workhouse in Hoxne?!

Hoxne artisan market9:30am-1:00pm on the second Saturday of the month go past the Hoxne Swan on your right, turn left then over the little bridge and on the right in the village hall it'll be the Artisan Market ... a regular stream of visitors and such a delicious smell of freshly cooked bacon from the cafe if they attached it to the market's posters it'd be the busiest market in Suffolk.

What an nice change to have some half way decent weather yesterday for Mouth to Mouth's production of the musical Godspell in the Debenham Angel's garden.  Asalways quirky, original and highly entertaining we were particularly pleased to see a ukulele move from the pit to centre stage.  Mouth to Mouth's garden tour continues this coming weekend at Hoxne, Framlingham, Orford and Laxfield.

Vix of Vix and the KicksVix is a very hard working lady but the Kicks keep up with her and together at the Pre-Crimbo Bash last night in Hoxne (a Suffolk village that still has a pub and a shop) they were achieving that hardest of tasks getting people to dance.  We left before the Merry bloody Christmas!midnight finish because we didn't want the village's attractive Christmas lights to go off before we could snap them.
