... a bit Suffolk

After 126 years the Framlingham Barclays bank closed the Friday before last. The cash dispenser and signs have gone, they'll need a carpenter to close the lobby doors which have no keyhole on the outside. 30 years ago Felixstowe was the nearest LINK cash dispenser to near the coast and Aldeburgh complained it had no ATM for visitors wanting to spend money ... what goes round comes round.

We really like the St Elizabeth Hospice Christmas Day Dip in Felixstowe despite in 2018 our sun roof blowing off driving there. It's a lot cheaper to register before Thursday the 22nd.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a defibrillator unit was vandalised in Felixstowe. The incident occurred Thursday 11 February, to the unit outside the public toilets in Sea Road. The unit lens was cracked, which is suspected to have been caused by somebody hitting it.
This is the third time in two years the unit has sustained damage – on the previous occasion in October last year the glass front was smashed.

Inevitably the Women's Tour has been pushed back to June but still the final stage finishes in Felixstowe . Had a lovely time (and free Costa coffee) in 2014 when the Tour's third stage started in Felixstowe. Whilst we're en velo the World CycloCross Championships are on the BBC iPlayer and red button today and tomorrow.

Hopefully you had a good one? As previously we enjoyed the Felixstowe Christmas Day Dip despite our Crocs keep filling with pebbles. This year an Australian presence and ... then, like a football match, suddenly it had all packed up and gone. Great support for the St Elizabeth Hospice and a ways off but you can already register for the excellent Bubble Rush next year.

There was a very heavy frost in Framlingham yesterday Christmas morning. Defrosting the car took at least 15 minutes contributing to us arriving 30 seconds late for the Felixstowe Christmas Dip a St Elizabeth Hospice fund raiser. 30 seconds is relevant as understandably a lot of the dippers don't stay in that long. We spent a lot of time fending off mince pies as did this police officer who was surprisingly chatty ... perhaps a bit bored.
