| | Saturday Brandeston Hall marked it's 60th anniversary with a flypast from a Tiger Moth in the school colours, Peter Stewart the first boy over the threshold in 1948 and Michael Wright the first head boy planted a lime tree. The tree replaces a lime tree destroyed in the 1987 hurricane which was so popular with the children (it was easy to climb) they'd given it the nickname Basil Brush.

This morning parties of years 5 and 6 from the Bedfield, Charsfield, Easton, Laxfield and Robert Hitcham schools joined pupils from Brandeston Hall in their gym for fun mental challenges and games presented by Josh Miller of the Happy Puzzle Company. Though you stayed with your friend you joined a table with children from other schools so you had to work as a team with people you didn't know; then you got to run about outside in the lovely meadow. Perfect!

If you can meet with triumph and disaster and treat those two impostors just the same One day the Brandeston Hall netball team will have to deal with the latter but so far they are undefeated since January 2005! Whilst we're there the batsmen are still cranking out centuries, this time it was Jack Scott 102 not out.

The Eastern Angles take Cuckoo Teapot out on tour next week starting Wednesday and Thursday in Saxmundham. Over the next three months venues will include Eye, Brandeston, Bredfield, Westleton, Hacheston, Woodbridge and Orford. Take them in before the blue meanie Arts Council finish them off.
