Hobson's Choice read through in Diss

Post by des fisher » Tue Apr 17, 2018 9:18 am

Time/date: 7.30pm Tuesday 17 April 2018
Venue: Diss United Reformed Church
Play: Hobson's Choice (Harold Brighouse)

If you are a regular here, you will know that we have occasional readings of plays. Besides helping us to decide what to put on, they are fun events in their own right. They are also a great opportunity for anyone interested in getting involved with RoughCast to make themselves known to us.
Hobson's Choice is a stage play that was made into a film in 1954 by David Lean and starred Charles Laughton as the eponymous anti-hero. It tells the story of a boorish patriarch that gets his comeuppance from his daughters - an early example of Girl Power! It's a rollicking comedy that we might well stage this autumn and has some cracking parts. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

As usual, there may be an opportunity to visit a favourite local watering hole afterwards...
