Gilad Atzmon and the Orient House Ensemble - £15.00

Gilad’s various bands have always been well received at the Club. This time it is the
turn of The Orient House Ensemble to play their brand of exciting music. The origin of
this band dates back to 2000 when it was founded by Gilad in London with Asif Sirkus
on drums, Frank Harrison on piano and Oli Hayhurst on bass. Inevitably there have
been personnel changes along the way and the band has produced nine CDs
recording their progress. This evening they will play the music of John Coltrane who
has probably become the most influential tenor saxophonist in jazz history. Expect the
“full sheets of sound” pioneered by Coltrane combined with intense interpretations of
classic modern jazz.. This latest version of the group to play at the Club will be Gilad
Atzmon on saxophones, Frank Harrison on keyboards, Yaron Stavi on bass and
recent recruit Enzo Zirilli on drums.
