Renewed appeal following A14 incident at Nacton, near Ipswich
Police and the East of England Ambulance Service were called at just after 8.10pm yesterday, Wednesday 15 March, reporting concerns for the safety of a man on the eastbound carriageway of the A14 near to junction 57 at Nacton.
It is then believed that the pedestrian, a man in his thirties, was struck by a car travelling on the carriageway. Following this collision, the man sadly died at the scene. The driver of the car stopped after the incident and was uninjured.
The eastbound carriageway was closed for several hours but has now reopened.
The Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) are now investigating the circumstances of what took place.
Anybody who witnessed the incident is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101 quoting CAD reference 389 of yesterday 15 March.
