SOLD Dec 2004
1962 Turner Mk2
Road legal this
1962 Turner Mk2 has run in the 750 Motor
Club and is eligible for the Classic Sports Car Club "Swinging Sixties"
Championship, the Julius Thurgood Top "Cloth Cap", "Best of British" and
"Spirit of Sebring" races. To qualify for HSCC
racing the front spoiler/airdam and the lip on the bonnet vent would
have to be removed. This is comparatively straight forward and we
would be happy to quote.
It
is fitted with a "Competition Engines" 1500cc Ford Pre-Crossflow
engine and the dyno sheets show 140bhp. The engine has been
moved back in the chassis for better weight distribution but the
original position could be restored. The gearbox is a rebuilt Ford
2000E and the axle has strengthened shafts and a
Quaife
3.9 LSD.
The
brakes have vented discs and Wilwood
alloy calipers, the front
suspension is up-rated and strengthened, there is a good
fire extinguisher and a
Corbeau
seat, Aeroquip brake hoses and
silicone cooling pipes. The original side screens, hood and seats come
with the car. The car is available without the engine or
alternatively with additional high specification engine spares.
There is a current MOT.
VUD
515 is a "works" style registration and is the original number on a
current V5 document showing the engine as 997cc. This should be amended
when ownership changes.
A
stunning car that is road legal but
ready to race!
