At the Snape Proms last night Dennis Rollins Badbone Co jazz/funk six piece cranked it out with us particularly enjoying Mark Ellis' alto and the band's arrangement of Stephen Stills' Love The One You're With ... a bit of Bill Withers can't be bad either ... and on the way home we got excellent freebie leftover tuck from Anglian Events at the Campsea Ashe Dog and Duck.

Robert Hitcham Singing Club's double gig with the Britten-Pears Chamber Choir last October was such a triumph that a diva from the Framlingham school may be soloing with the chamber choir next month at the Snape Maltings.

Bright young Scottish thing of this year's Last Night of the Proms Anna Meredith has written the music for Tarantula in Petrol Blue to be premiered at the end of February in the Snape Maltings.  There is an open audition call for acting/singing boys aged 14-19 to join the cast of pros and local young people.

36 bales of roof insulation stolen in Snape during the early hours yesterday.

If you approach the Snape Maltings in daylight it's obvious something major is happening.  (We've been sliding past in the dark and only vaguely aware something was up.)   What's happening is new rehearsal rooms, small concert room and stuff plus twenty homes grouped round a private courtyard.  Nice.
