Club members very keenly contested the recent Framlingham Camera Club competition in the four sections with 89 images submitted. The Small Colour section attracted six entries; this section is intended for new members and youngsters who find the smaller image less costly to produce. Monochrome section (26 entries) and large colour section (42 entries) were well supported. The judge, John Wridley from Clacton, awarded 5 images full marks in these two sections. He awarded no mark less than half marks - commenting that the standard for such a small club is very high. The technical, artistic and printability of all the images is worthy of note he said. It was interesting that the judge asked a number of questions about how several images had been produced. The slide section attracted 15 entries; this section always struggles to find submissions and may even be dropped from competitions at some time in the future.
Framlingham Camera Club attracts new members and is very active. Future meetings in 2010 include the Annual Exhibition and a practical Photoshop evening by Terry Goodchild. The next club competition is in September with “Three” as the theme. There are also two photographic battles with other local camera clubs during the autumn.
The club’s website http://www.onesuffolk.co.uk/FramlinghamCameraClub continues to attract hits and gives useful information. There are links to other sites. New members are always made welcome. Please phone Michael Poole on 01986 798191.
