The final weekend of Arts Framlingham was almost as spectacular as those fireworks at Framlingham College Saturday night. Friday night was a genuinely packed house (we saw just one empty seat) for the as usual excellent Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, rather scary though to see all those middle aged, middle classed, Middle England people stamping their feet and shrieking for more. Rather like the South, one day, maybe, the silent majority will rise again.
Saturday morning was a wet start but by the evening it was cheerful enough to picnic on the lawn of Red Farm House and enjoy Mouth to Mouth's typically fun view of Shakespeare. We just loved the ladettes and there are more pics of the Merry Wives here. To end the festival the rain just about held off for jazz on the rectory lawn and more picnicking. (Thanks to Winter Rose for the glass of wine and apologies for walking off with the glass.) From the name we thought the Patrician Jazz Band would be trad but no, they are somewhere between lounge and modern and are back again in Framlingham this Thursday at reubens. Great stuff Arts Framlingham though we hear the real high spot was dancing in the aisles of St Michael's the Sunday before.
