11/12/02 Norwich
Fat Cat
The fringe Lunch Club was thwarted when on entering the Norwich Fat Cat NaTCH and Lady KRJ discovered that it did not serve hot food.
Consequently lunch was taken in Pizza Express. No beer was drunk but conversation included how fed up Lady KRJ is of hearing about "Bowling for
Columbine".

13/11/02 Fram
Station
A dozen or so lunching ladies
having a birthday party rather swamped Suzanna and NaTCH and what's more chef Carol was off sick so no liver casserole but new landlady Kate, in hyperdrive mode, produced enjoyable Cottage and Chicken Pies and as usual the Vic was on song. Conversation included "passive anger" and the paucity of interesting gigs at the moment.
AFAR from
Spadge (shipping Ginettas to the US), Hugh (actually in Ireland this time), and
John B (nobody told him). (Last visit 12/09/01)
09/10/02 Earl
Soham Vic
NaTCH
arrived at Brew House Corner to discover that David ("We may not look busy
bit there's lots to do"), Malcolm (even more important than usual), and Matt (work
of national importance) couldn't attend and John B was about to make a mercy dash to The
Station, which he did after
buying NaTCH a pint because NaTCH discovered he had neglected to visit the hole in
the wall and consequently had £1.58 in his pocket. Then Hugh, who had
previously AfARed
(might be in Ireland), arrived and kindly bought NaTCH lots more of the very on song
Vic! Conversation included chromatography and Hugh's new web site.
AFAR from
Pippin and Gib (both working). (Last visit

04/09/02 Kettleburgh
Chequers
At the rear of Kettleburgh Chequers is an enormous patio
and an even more enormous garden with the River Deben looping through
it and the Deben Brewery used to be next door. Inside Malcolm, NaTCH, Lady KRJ, John B, and newbies Suzanna and
Matt enjoyed very pleasant food, very acceptable Adnams, and Merlin, an
impressive guest beer from South Wales brewery Buckley (Brains by another
name). Conversation included politics (but not art or religion),
Suzanna's boiler, and why Malcolm is so important.
AOARF?
from Spadge (paying customer). (First visit)
14/08/02 Debenham
Cherry
Tree
New
lunch club chum Richard V and NaTCH arrived together and inevitably there was
much talk of loudspeakers and loudspeaker people. Substantial, well
presented meals were enjoyed along with well kept Adnams. Thankfully the
sound on the wide screen telly was off and it was our fault for sitting under
the occasionally booming Wharfedale speaker. John B arrived later for a
drink and to tell us that the new lad at the brewery plays in the Great
Yarmouth brass band.
AfARs from Spadge
(bloody customers again), Malcolm (too important), and Suzanna (taking son to
airport). (First visit)
10/07/02 Excused
Lunch Club because of Tour
de France
Hopefully
nobody turned up. Virtual luncher Clive, who is domiciled in northern
France, popped down the road and saw it pass. That's one of the nice
things about Le Tour, given enough time it comes to you ... and last I heard David
Millar had worn the white jersey both by right and default AND won a
stage! (First excused)
